Auction catalogs are an essential marketing tool for any auction house. Founded in 2012,
Baer & Bosch Auctioneers in Cheyenne, WY, commissioned us to create a visual identity for their curated auction catalogs. In addition to designing, we also assisted with the distribution of paper and digital catalogs featuring fine and rare watches, pocket watches, jewelry, clocks, works of art, skateboards, three-dimensional artist sculptures, and other collectibles. Our team established a design approach to form an engaging and creative way to showcase Baer & Bosch’s featured auction lots.
The
Nonsuch Media team examined the auction industry to learn about the relationship between the auction house, auction clients, and auction categories. After intensive research, our team knew a highly crafted design solution was essential to presenting auction catalogs that were modern and sophisticated.
Each auction catalog was designed to allow the colors and illustrations to play a prominent role in how Baer & Bosch featured their lots in a cohesive image by tying the categories together. Each cover was created in collaboration with an artist, and the visual content of the catalog served to create a visually intelligent identity around that particular auction.
