Auctions catalogs are an excellent marketing strategy for any auction house.
Baer & Bosch Auctioneers commissioned us to combine unusual wristwatches, vintage timepieces, and affordable art pieces into their latest auction catalogue, a collection of rare vintages from the 20th century as well as contemporary watches.
To better engage both seasoned and new collectors in Baer & Bosch’s lot offerings, we have designed their catalogs according to a cohesive format. The
Nonsuch Media team then took the best of both worlds, the classic design from Baer & Bosch’s past and the modern, innovative approach currently in high demand. The result was a seamless presentation for every collector to find what they are looking for while also providing an overall better look at all available items.
We worked closely with the watch experts at Baer & Bosch Auctioneers to create a design that reflects the company’s rich history while also being in sync with current trends. Our first step at Nonsuch Media was to conduct extensive research into the relationship between auction houses, their clients, and categories to understand better how these factors impact each other. After meeting with several different designers, we knew an innovative design was necessary to present Baer & Bosch Auctions’ inventory to their clients in a way that is convenient and appealing.
We created an ingenious design with high-quality photography, compelling content for each category, a clean layout free of clutter — all the while utilizing Baer & Bosch Auctioneers’ rich history. This new approach has proven successful as we are closing on the 50th catalogue we created with Baer & Bosch Auctioneers.
Concepts are meant to be explored and executed, not simply developed. This is why we have taken the approach of developing our own content in-house rather than outsourcing it or hiring a consultant. No one understands your product better than you do — so trust the people who created it!
